P.R.A.C. for Life Alumni Program
After completing the three-year P.R.A.C. For Life program and entering into such impacting and profound relationships with fellow P.R.A.C. students, teachers, and other members of the community, it has always been disappointing that there was no place for our graduates to continue their self study, education and learning. This is changing with the introduction of our new P.R.A.C. for Life Alumni program.
P.R.A.C. Alumni will meet every other week. One week of the month, Clearmind will host speakers/lecturers of other like-minded organizations in the field of personal growth, healing and enhancement. These speakers will be sharing their knowledge and engaging in healthy dialogue, comparing ideologies and practice.
One other night of the month, Duane and Catherine O’Kane will meet with the group, focusing on a practical application of the work and wisdom of the three years of P.R.A.C. for Life. The last exercise as a P.R.A.C. 3 student was to compose and read publicly A Personal Constitution for Life. If the Constitution is the intention, then P.R.A.C. Alumni is the practice. The primary focus and activity will be each student's application of these principals in their own life. We are seriously looking at continued supervision of clinical work, as well as students bringing in video footage of their lives at home for review and discussion.
But it certainly goes much further than that. It is not only important that the graduates benefit from a community they can count on for years to come, but also that the community can count on the graduates. The key word is community: beyond workshops, study, assignments, practicum and structure. Clearmind's prime directive is to clearly pioneer a continued path to love and peace in this world, and not to simply end our relationship when the three years of P.R.A.C. for Life ends. The next step as graduates is to assume this vital role.
The P.R.A.C. for Life Alumni students are now elders in this community. That is both a privilege and a responsibility. In the Western world, we are new to the ways of understanding the importance of community. Clearmind is evolving to address this challenge.
This program is not being offered for the purposes of counsellor career training.
