What is the Men and Miracles Workshop?
Men and Miracles is a powerful and transformational workshop designed to help men re-discover who they truly are. It offers an opportunity to redefine what it means to be a man in today’s world.
After the industrial revolution, fathers no longer worked from their home and
became absent. As a result their sons were raised mostly by women. Fathers, for
the most part, were seen as negligent, drunk, or someone to fear. Most men carry
a collective guilt for the perceived sins of their fathers and all other men,
who were also responsible for most historical atrocities. Men avoid this deep
suspicion of who they intrinsically are and become only a facsimile of themselves...
yet another man contributing to an already defended and hostile world. This burden
of guilt requires attention and remedy, and is addressed with very serious intent
in this workshop.
The truth is that beneath this mask of guilt is the beautiful essence of
man waiting to be remembered for what he truly is. By connecting to the
experiential knowledge of who we really are, we allow ourselves to flow
through life with ease. From this place, we have something meaningful and
authentic to give to those around us. Somewhere between the mask of being nice
but invisible, and the armor of being right but alone, is the face of a man
being truly honest, truly certain and truly loving.
What will I discover?
Authenticity, Relief, Dignity and Direction. The exercises are challenging, and offer you the reward of a clear experience of the power of your true essence. You will find a new perspective on yourself as a man in relation to your father, your first model of what it means to be a man, and come to a fuller realization of the nuances of your own identity. You will find a discovery of an authentic self that will accept the task of apologizing for what you and your father have done, but no longer for what you both are. It takes courage to do the exercises, which offer you the reward of recalling the soul of the man in you that can be proud of his own existence.
You will understand and know your father at a level that our western world
does not provide opportunity for and yet is vital to your self definition.
Although this workshop is separate from the woman’s workshop, there is
a profound opportunity for healing with women at its completion. You will leave
supported by the company of men committed to a new direction with yourself and
in all your relationships. You will have something to legitimately give to all
of your relationships other than just strategy, your Self. This workshop is an
essential next step towards pursuing your life’s purpose.
A deep sense of refreshing serenity emerges as you let go of who you think you need to be, and walk through who you fear you are to discover who you truly are.
What can I expect?
Men and Miracles is a graduate workshop, requiring participants to take the Awakening as a prerequisite. As in the Awakening, this workshop achieves a balance between experience and understanding. Because participants have done the Awakening and know what to expect from our workshops, Men and Miracles involves takes flight sooner, and involves more opportunities for self discovery. The atmosphere is clear, supportive and inclusive.
This workshop involves an element of spiritual ritual, including a Native American Sweat Lodge.
The workshop is typically taught by two qualified facilitators, and features a number of
trained assistants. They are dedicated to providing you a safe, non-confrontational, professionally
delivered weekend experience that prides itself on respecting the speed at which each participant
decides to proceed. We ensure a therapeutically responsible and professional approach to the
delivery of all of our programs.
In Canada, our facilitators are educated and registered with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC) or the Canadian Professional Counsellors Association (CPCA). International facilitators are similarly educated and trained in their respective jurisdictions. Workshop assistants, who work under the direction of facilitators, receive in house training in responsible, ethical delivery of service. We adhere to our own Code of Ethics, as well as those of our associations.
Men and Miracles is a three day weekend workshop starting at around noon on Friday and going through Sunday evening. Workshops are typically residential with food provided for throughout the weekend. Dress casually and comfortably for the weekend and be ready to meet your soul.
