Clearmind November 2008 Lecture Evening

One Step Ahead

Wednesday, November 5th, 2008
at 7:30 PM Sharp!

with Duane O'Kane

Whether it be in the middle of a relationship activity or interaction, a work project, or an artistic expression, we stop somewhere and say to ourselves, 'Okay, I'm done'. We believe we are complete with that communication, effort or expression. Duane asked himself many years ago what would happen if he took one step further once he thought that he was complete. He was astonished at what was revealed.

Heaven is held hostage in each and every moment, relationship and experience, if we dare enter it beyond the surface. There is a brave new world waiting for us. We don't have to take a space ship to get there; it is closer than we think. It is right in front of us.

Come and listen to Duane deliver a passionate lecture, unveiling the happiness and ecstasy of taking 'One Step Ahead' into our life as it currently is so that it can become what it wants to be.

Clearmind UK Gets Edgy

January 9 to 11, 2009

January 9th to 11th, Duane O'Kane brings The Edge workshop to the United Kingdom. This workshop focuses on healing addictions and attachments, which are often less obvious than an addiction to drugs, alcohol or cigarettes. These are the lures we use to replace true connection with others, intimacy with our loved ones, and our connection to Spirit or God. And they are the things our egos hold so dear: be they work, fame, relationships, sex, power, money, food, or even spirituality. The list is long.

The workshop is being held in Carnforth, Lancashire, at beautiful Borwick Hall, a 14th Century Manor House, nestled in a quiet country village just outside the UK's famous Lake District.

Borwick Hall

All accommodation and meals (at Borwick Hall) are included. The cost is £420. Book by midnight December 1st to take advantage of the early bird rate of £390. Space is limited. For more information, or to register for this workshop, email: Duane O'Kane.

News From the CPCA with Jim Wright and Kristy Higgins

Saturday November 8th, 10:30 till Noon

Vancouver Premier College, 200 - 1338 West Broadway, Vancouver

Topics to be discussed:

  1. The CPCA "competency model" has now achieved nationwide recognition and is moving toward more acceptance by the traditional establishment each day (e.g. Blue Cross acceptance of Full and MPCP members). Crime Victim Assistance and other Health Care providers are coming in line with Canadian law (e.g. the Canada Competition Act, the Canada Health Act, the AIT (Agreement on Internal Trade), and the Charter of Rights and Freedoms). What has happened to achieve that, and why is it happening in the Counselling/psychotherapy field?

  2. Why join a National Counselling Association like the CPCA, rather than a Provincial Association?

  3. Why is it extremely important that CPCA members and applicants be vigilante with required documentation(including supervision) for Full membership approval.

  4. What is the status of Provincial regulation of Counsellors/psychotherapists in BC and Canada?
