The Edge Workshop

What is the Edge Workshop?

The Edge walks us to, and exposes, the fallacy and false promise of the ego’s ultimate lure... things that we attach ourselves to as substitutes for God, convinced that those things hold the key to happiness. This is a workshop that focuses on healing addictions and attachments, which are often not so obvious as an addiction to drugs, alcohol or cigarettes. What your ego holds so dear may be work, fame, relationships, sex, power, money, food, or even spirituality. The list is long.

Participants connect As long as we are convinced that something holds the key to our happiness, we will be unable to appreciate all that the universe has put right in front of us. Unless our lives match the picture we have of what we believe would bring us happiness (and they never will), we will only be able to see what isn’t, rather than what is. We will be blind to the wealth of opportunity inherent in every moment, no matter how it appears. As long as we are attached, we will inevitably distort our perceptions of our current reality and see evidence for disappointment, fear, and lack.

The Edge is tailored to meet the cry of the soul buried underneath our preoccupation with attachments, waiting to be remembered. Many who have taken this workshop have marked this as the turning point in healing the insidious, often unconscious nature of addictive behaviours. Letting go leads to discovering the freedom inherent in a life lived in the present.

What will I discover?

Freedom, Peace, Self Awareness and Purpose. You will leave the workshop with an expanded awareness of how you have been operating in your world, as well as a commitment to taking concrete proactive steps in a new, positive direction.

Participant gets support Being in constant pursuit of what we think we need to be happy in fact leaves us in a state of perpetual lack, and unhappiness. Letting go of the false promise of attachments allows us to stop living in the future, and start experiencing the present, which is the only place anything can actually happen.

Once you have let go of attachments, you discover the beauty and perfection that already is.

What can I expect?

Group supports man The Edge is a graduate workshop, requiring participants to take the Awakening as a prerequisite. As in the Awakening, the Edge achieves a balance between experience and understanding. Because participants have done the Awakening and know what to expect from our workshops, the Edge takes flight sooner, and involves more opportunities for self discovery.

The workshop is typically taught by two qualified facilitators, and features a number of trained assistants. The team is dedicated to providing you a safe, non-confrontational professionally delivered weekend experience that prides itself on respecting the speed of which each participant decides to proceed. We ensure a therapeutically responsible and professional approach to the delivery of all of our programs. In Canada, our facilitators are educated and registered with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC) or the Canadian Professional Counsellors Association (CPCA).

International facilitators are similarly educated and trained in their respective jurisdictions. Workshop assistants, who work under the direction of facilitators, receive in house training in responsible, ethical delivery of service. We adhere to our own Code of Ethics, as well as those of our associations.

The Edge is a three day weekend workshop starting at around noon on Friday and going through Sunday evening. Workshops are typically residential with food provided for throughout the weekend. Dress casually and comfortably for the weekend and be ready to change your world.

What have others said?

“I learned to step forward without knowing and just to trust the process and the world around me.” J.M.

“This was my first honest look at cracking my fear of commitment. It was intense but I have wanted to look at it after so long. Men, co-workers, and my family across the world can now breath easier.” D.K.

Man expresses exultation “I was able to test my limits and learning for the first time that it is OK to have limits and realizing how I have lived my whole life before without having any.” C.M.

“I really got how I replaced my relationship to God with my fantasy perfect relationship at the age of 4 and how it’s evolved over the past forty years and in turn how much I have lost because of it. This weekend has been amazing all the way around and truly eye-opening.” M.G.

“I am very uncomfortable addressing my addictions in public. The BEST thing about this workshop is that I was safe and able to do the work that I needed to do and allowed to take the time as needed to walk through my fears.” A.F.
